FAQ FOR PARENTS
As it is a residential camp, can the campers choose not to stay overnight but go home and return to the camp every morning?
All campers should stay in the camp to get the full benefits of the program. Parents can make a request and we will consider accordingly, though we do not encourage it.
There is a Junior and a Senior Age group for the program. How will the program be conducted for the different age groups?
Campers will be put into teams of 10 to 15, boys and girls of similar ages. The Junior and Senior programs will be conducted concurrently and separately. Typically, both groups will be together in the 1st half of the day as the Seniors are encouraged and given opportunities to model for the Juniors. In the afternoon and evening, the two groups will be separated for more age-appropriate activities.
What is the ratio of staff to campers and where are they from?
The program is conducted by a team of international facilitators and team leaders from the USA, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, India, and many more. The ratio of Facilitators to campers will be 1: 20-30; and Team Leader to campers will be 2:10-15.
Are campers allowed to use their phones and laptops during camp?
At registration on Day 1, all campers are required to hand in their mobile phones and any other game or computer devices. They will be given 30 minutes of phone time each day, in the evening, as of Day 2.
Are campers expected to take any tests before and/or during camp?
It is not an academic camp so campers are not expected to take any tests even though we teach campers essential study skills. The focus of the camp is mainly on social and emotional developments.
What is the accommodation arrangements for campers?
6 to 8 campers will share a bungalow unit. Boys and girls will be in separate bungalows and our Team Leaders will conduct nightly checks to ensure their safety and security.
How many campers will there be and where are they from?
Typically, each camp will have 60 to 80 campers, with quite an even split between Junior and Senior groups, and it is an international camp with students from various countries including Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam and even the USA.
What is the food arrangement for the camp?
Everyone at camp will have 3 main meals a day, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and light snacks in between, including when they are back in the bungalows at night. We will ensure that the food is healthy, with fruits available daily, and we can cater for special dietary requirements including halal, vegetarians and vegans.
Can campers with learning disorders participate in the programs?
We try our best to be inclusive and do not discriminate against any camper. We will be happy to speak with the parents to assess how the program can benefit the child and the overall interest of everyone at camp.
Is there a requirement for student visa and does the camp provide airport transfer for overseas campers?
There is no need for any student visa and you just need to apply for a normal tourist visa. Yes, we do provide airport pick and transfer to the camp, even for unaccompanied minors, at an additional fee of SGD 100 for each camper.
